Biography
Danny was a keen footballer and cricketer before a motorbike accident at 17 left him paralysed from the chest down. Initially getting back into sport as a wheelchair racer, Danny soon switched to the shot put, representing the British Wheelchair Athletics Association. He was named the BWAA Athlete of the Year in 2004, and his progression in the sport went from strength to strength. Representing Team GB at the 2008 Paralympics in Beijing, Danny finished 5th in his class, only 1cm shy of personal best.
2009 and 2010 saw further improvements in performance, with Danny breaking the British Record on numerous occasions, with 9.72m standing currently.
With his sights firmly set on London 2012, Danny is certainly one to watch.
